Flower Power

Thoughts on this? Is it too much? Too flowery? Too Girly?

I came across it twice today actually...and that seemed to be a sign to me to consider it more closely. :) It's called Linden Street Aqua Floral Comforter Set.
The First Time: I pulled up the JC Penney's website to look for a shirt I saw on one of their commercials, and this bed set was on the main page and it caught my eye. Scott and I have been going back and forth on what to do in our Master Bedroom. Our biggest issue with the room is that it has dark green carpeting from the previous owners and right now it's just not in our budget to replace. We had hoped to go with a chocolate brown/blue or black/blue 'theme' in the room, but with the carpet it's going to be a no-go for now. But this 'might' actually work in our favor if we go with this bed set...I could make it work I think.
The Second Time: As I was going about my daily rounds of checking in on each blog I frequently read, there it was again, staring back at me over at This Young House. Sherry and John seem to like it too. And added bonus for me...it's all laid out nicely with coordinating accessories courtesy of Melissa's Design Dilemma . SCORE!
I also currently have a square of each of these colors painted on my bedroom wall:

They are all from Sherwin-Williams. The first one is called "Interesting Aqua" and I first heard about it on Susie's blog. She actually got the idea to paint her kitchen this color from Pat. Pat painted her main bathroom this color, and I think I'm going to as well! I love the color! Susie, on the other hand, didn't love it so much. I think she ended up repainting. :)
The second is "Silver Mist' and on my wall it is much more of a blue color...it's name could be Interesting Aqua. I liked it, but I didn't think I'd ever find anything to go with it, or to tie it in with the ugly green carpet...but now I'm rethinking that since stumbling apon this comforter. It might actually work!
The last is "Avenue Tan". My idea was to use this color for the entire upstairs living area..which in our small home consists of the living room/dining room/entry/hall. I've been in search of the perfect tan/taupe color and this sadly is not it. It's much more 'army green' looking on the walls. Still a very nice color, but it's just not what I have been searching for.
What do you think? Can I pull off the Silver Mist color and this bed set with a dark green carpet? I'm trying to justify it. The green carpet is like nice, pretty, green grass? Leaves? Stems? The blue paint like the sky? Does that sound convincing to you?
Who am I kidding...Scott is going to be the one that needs the convincing...

Hugs & Kisses

Last night in a mad rush to find treats for daycare I grabbed a bag of these little babies to give to our daycare provider.

And then made the mistake of eating one as I was transfering them to the goodie bags I bought.

Where have these been all my life? Are they a Valentine's Exclusive Flavor? They are soooo good! They are my new love. I shall return to the store and by multiple bags of them and hide them in my freezer along side my other great love; The Candy Cane Flavored Hersey Kisses.

I'm down to two bags of these bad boys. I had to bust open an new bag yesterday. :( At this rate they will not last me until next Christmas, at which time they will return in all their glory to a store near you. So it's a good thing I found the HUGS...they'll get me by until December.

I've Created A Monster

This is the perfect ecard for my husband. After months and months of mocking me and wondering what is so appealing about Facebook, I finally convinced him to sign up for an account and the man is now obsessed with the site. Not only has he 'stolen' my 'friends' from me and made them his own, but he thinks it's a competition to see who has the most facebook friends. I've created a Monster! :)
At the same time though we both have enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and distant relatives. A very diverse group of people make up my friend list. Some of those people include:
- My husband, of course!
- My 10th Grade English Teacher.
- The first boy I ever kissed.
- The very first friend I ever had.
- The husband of the woman that started the jewelry company that I sell for.
- All the girls in my book club.
- My High School 'stalker'. No worries though! It's just an inside joke between friends....and a story for another time. :)
- And a couple of 'friends' that I've never really even met IRL..like Sarah, even though we have a couple of mutual Real Life friends as facebook friends...which just goes to show how small the world really is!
My husband has reconnected with a handful of his cousins that he really hasn't seen in a long time, his old babysitter, a few teachers, the brothers of his best friend growing up, old coworkers and a ton of old classmates.
It really is interesting to see how these peoples lives have turned out and it answers alot of those "whatever happened too...." types of questions.

Attention Men!

Some of you know that I have a little "hobby" selling jewelry and yesterday I got a funny little email from a fellow Cookie Lee sister with a video about men going to the "Dog House" because they buy their wives horrible gifts! She was sending it off to her customers as a reminder to them to tell the men in their lives to call her up and order their woman the perfect Valentines Day gift from her this year. I thought it was a cute idea so I made up a little flyer of my own to share. I think it turned out pretty cute, and the link to the video is below as well if anyone wants to take a peek at it. Fun Stuff!!

If you have a man in your life that needs a little reminder that Valentine's Day is Fast Approaching, let me know! I'd be happy to send him a link straight to my page; alone with your wish list if you'd like!

One Of Those Days..

Have you ever had one of those days where you are just in a complete panic about your life? Where everything you're doing seems to be wrong and you have no idea how you got to where you are? Not that your life is bad..that isn't the case at all...but that maybe it could be so much better?

I'm having one of those days...No, scratch that...I'm having one of those weeks.

This week my job is not good enough..not fulfilling or something. I keep thinking that I could be doing so much more. What keeps me here? Oh, I know. That's right..I need to make money. I forgot..because I have a mortgage, two car payments and five kids to feed. Silly me..

And I've spent way too much time looking at interior design blogs..and wishing I had a cute little house with pretty white couches and pastel colored walls and colored vases on all my tables. But the place probably wouldn't stay very cute and white for long..not with a three and four-year-old running around with kool-aid and crayons. I've come to the conclusion that these people, who's immaculate little house are blogged about over and over again, can not possibly have children. And if they do, then they must not be allowed in these rooms..they probably have them locked up in a playroom somewhere.

But the icing on the cake for this week has got to be the start of our weight loss "competition" at work today. Weigh-in day. I officially weigh the most I can ever remember weighing in my life. BLAH! I'm not even sure if I weighed this much during either of my pregnancies...I'm sure I did...but I can't remember. Maybe now I'll get serious about using that gym membership and putting my walking shoes into good use.

On a positive note, the week is almost over! :)

My New BFF!

Seriously.

I am now convinced that it's all down hill after thirty. With the exception of a few bouts with heartburn during both of my pregnancies, and for some reason every time I drink vodka and cranberry juice together or a certain type of chocolate, which I have yet to narrow down, I have never in my life had heartburn so bad. And it makes me a little sad. :(

It's so random..and man does it sneak up on me. Just when I'm getting all snuggled into bed. And with totally random foods too. And I do not like it at all. And I've been stubborn. I've been eyeballing that purple box in my medicine cabinet for months and have convinced myself that it will pass. That popping a few TUMS will help. But I finally gave in. It was fine when it was once or twice every couple of months...but when's it's once or twice a week and hours and hours of discomfort and lose of sleep..well that's another story. So me and the Prilosec are now the best of friends...but I still haven't broken down yet and bought my own personal box. I'll just keep stealing them from Scott. :)

Something fun for all you twenty-somethings to look forward too.
