How do I know that? Because my mom told me. :)
There's a story here.
Have I ever mentioned to you about how I get on these obsessive little searches for things I think I 'need'...especially when they are on clearance? :)
Like the time I called every Younkers department store in 6 states looking for a pair of $95 dollar shoes that were marked down 85% and I just had to have them?
Then come to find out that the local store here, after I called three times asking if they had it and then finally went in there and stalked the shoe dept, because I just had a gut feeling they had the shoe but weren't looking for it, that they did indeed have the shoe I was looking for!
I paid $8 for a $95 pair of shoes...and I do wear them at least a few times a week, so it was worth it.
Back to my story....
A few weeks ago a friend at work had these amazing red numbers on and I just had to know where she got them...I had been searching for the perfect pair of red shoes for a long time...because every girl should have a pair of red heels, right?
I had bought a pair back when I was frantically searching for the pair mentioned above, but they are a little high...and I save them for occasions that do not require alot of walking...
So I asked my friend where she got them and she told me Kohl's and that they were on clearance...that's all I needed to hear.
I drove to two different Kohl's near me looking for them...no luck.
I called the other three Kohl's in/near town...no luck either.
As a last resort, I called my sister, in another state and told her to call Kohl's and ask them if they had them...she was too busy to do so...but gave me the phone number.
I called. Got the Shoe department. Told the lady the shoes I was looking for. What color I wanted, what size I needed...then sat on hold for what seemed like an eternity.
When she finally came back to the phone, this is the conversation we had:
Her: "Today is your lucky day!"
Me: "You have them?"
Her: "Yep. They are the LAST pair we have have."
Me: "Are you serious? The red one? Size 10?"
Her: "Yep..the last pair."
Me: "Sweet! You have no idea...I don't even live in KC...my sister does...and I called every store in my town...and they didn't have them..and they were sold out online..and I called my sister, and she gave me your number, and I called and you have them...She'll come get them for me...hold them for her, PLEASE!"
And she did..and she brought them up with her from KC yesterday..and says they are for my birthday on Monday...but she left this morning again and won't be back until Tuesday...so I'm getting those babies today!
Good Lord, I'm neurotic..or something. I'm sick. It's a sickness. I was overly excited about a stupid pair of shoes. I promise, I'm not like this all the time...I don't think.
I'm not even going to mention that I did the same thing a few weeks ago looking for a stupid pair of running shoes because they were 'cute'...I gave up on that because they were also expensive..so maybe that doesn't make me too crazy, right? I mean it's okay to get excited about a $10 pair of shoes....but I still know when to draw the line and give up when I can't justify spending alot on other pairs. :)
That makes me feel better....I think?

Oh my goodness your funny! I have done the same thing for other things, but not shoes. I am not a shoe girl really, although I do like having some cute ones!
